I just signed up to this forum after finding this thread off a google search. I was wondering, what type of bonnet/pad did you use for the Craftsman buffer? I've been looking for a while for a buffer/polisher to use with M83 to remove "spiderwebs" from my car. I'd love to get a Porter Cable that would be compatible with foam cutting pads, but I can't really spend that much right now for a buffer. Not sure if one of the terry bonnets with a 6'' Craftsman polisher would be good enough to apply M83. How'd you do it?

Any other members who can help with this, I'd appreciate your input. Thanks!

I used a basic terry cloth bonnet from the local auto parts store.
Although the car looks great in photos - and looks great in person to most people, I'm still not satisfied. There are still some spider webs and lots of defects visible under extreme close inspection.

I ordered the G100 and a bunch of pads and Meguiars supplies from autodetailingsolutions a couple days ago. I expect to receive everything this wednesday. It will be very educational to compare my results after the G100 and appropriate pads to my Craftsman brand results.

I think I'll tape off half my hood and do a side-by-side comparison.

On another note: Subsequent to starting this thread I redid my hood using 20 on one side and NXT on the other. Although both sides look great, the 20 produced noticeably deeper blacker results. One I get the G100 I'm redoing the entire car with 20 as my last step product.

        I'll post results afterwards.

hi JMATT, great reflection shots and detailing work !seen that you ordered your g100, great investment! I to used a craftsmen buffer along with the other 10'' buffers. after years of use i found out to get the foam bonnets to use with the cheaper 10'' orbitals and it made the work with the meguiars cleaners alot better then using the terry bonnets, and used the terry bonnets for cleaner/waxes or cleaner/polishes, and i used the micro-fiber bonnets for the waxes, and the last step was to use the paste wax . had super results, not anything like the g100 results, but for a 10"orbital cheap buffer pretty amazing.
