    Yes it is possible to obtain excellent results by hand if you use the right products and technique. However, to get work that is the quality of anything in this thread, you will wear your arms off.

      That #3 pic looks allmost like you just took a picture of the lamp. Nice work.

        Don't settle for the milky haze left on the finish. I try to bring out a crisp (for lack of a better word) bright brilliant shine.

        If you would have followed a proven system.
        Here a pic of what I mean.

        to me it looks like the photo was washed out by the sun shining on the clouds, making one huge and very bright diffuser. the camera then couldnt calculate the right shutter speed and aperture to give a good picture, very typical of a point and shoot camera. i could get a very crisp and nice picture with my DSLR, but after hours of detailing, the last thing i want to do is change shutter speeds and apertures while squatting, then checking my work on a 2.5" screen. maybe im just lazy, but usually i like to relax after washing and detailing. im an engineer, the most physical labor i do is operaitng a pencil, calculator, and computer mouse (in fact all this typing is really pushing it, j/k)

        i would say good detailer, not so good photographer
