Last weekend I prepared the winter car for use by the end of this month. October 30, earlier if snow is forecast, I will start again driving my first car, still with me after more than 11 years (car will be 18 years old on oct. 31), for what could be her last winter with me. Mechanically it's getting tired and salt & calcium have slowly been eating through the floor. I repaired it as best I could, but it's not like new despite its outside look.
Next summer when I'm done paying my Echo I will shop for a used small SUV, or at least something with enough ground clearance to go through unplowed roads without the fear of getting stuck. I'd like to keep it, but my reason tells me I have no use for 3 vehicles.
It makes me sad to let it go. We've seen much together and travelled more than 150,000 KMs since we first met. I almost wish the engine would blow up that would do more damage than the car is worth so that I could send it to the scrap yard instead of having it being beaten to death by a youngster.
I've been told I'm much too sentimental toward such a bunch of metal and plastic which isn't even worth much money. I can't help it.
Pics are from last year's full detail but it hasn't changed. I had to host these on photobucket because MO's gallery just won't let me login. :/

And last, let the snow come, she's ready !!! (there's no tire shine on the thread, it's just wet)
