I have never seen a Titan up close, but Dodge produced the SRT/10 to steal Lightening buyers. That puts them in the same class, they are both Sport trucks that are not designed to do any work. A Rumble Bee is a stock 1500 with a graphics package. It pounds out the same 345 horse that any other 5.7 HEMI on the street produces. This puts the Rumble Bee in the normal full size truck class.

The Titan is also geared towards the "everyday work truck" market. It has a towing capacity of 9500 lbs - and 395 lb-ft of torque.

Anyway, I was jesting in fun - but I LOVE my Titan...and I have owned all the major brands. The Titan is the only one that still puts a smile on my face after two years of ownership.

Looks like we have a good spread of prideful truck guys here!!!

It's all for fun. I worked for Chrysler for eight years and I am devoted to the Rams. I know them very well inside and out and I got a great deal on mine before I retired from the place. I hope all truck owners defend their truck.

Have you done anything to your L? I know I can beat the earlier L models ( before they put the S/C on them ) and can hang pretty well with stock L's depending on the driver. I get beat - but it's not a crushing kill. The last L I played with light-to-light, I ended up hangin on right at the driver door.

I'm happy with the Hemi, I really didn't buy it to race - I just wanted something that had some balls to it when needed.
I bought my L for the same reason. It's a 99. I don't race it. It's much more fun to take out on a curvy mountain road and push it. The truck handles fantastic! It will take 35mph curves at 70 with no problem It's the most fun I have ever had driving sitting in an upright position. The only mods it has are a K/N filter and a performance flip-chip from Superchips.

Here's some specs taken from Truckin' Magazine about the L and the SRT 10

"according to truckin magazine the srt had a 1/4 mile time of 14.08 sec @ 101.64 m.p.h,it has a 0-60 of 5.66 with 500 h.p, 525 #'s of torque (remember that this is an 8.3 liter engine)and has an msrp of $45,000!!!!! Ouch , but on the other hand fords svt lightning ran a 1/4 time of 14.68 sec @ 98.37 mph it has a 0-60 of 6.37 with 380 h.p and 450 #'s of torque and has a msrp of $33,495 yes the srt has more hp and torque but the lightning can hang with a minimal difference in specs."

Too bad Ford quit making the Lightning!

Either way you have to pay to play. Both are salty for just a toy. Both would be very fun. Just imagine a SRT 10 with a twin turbo!

The 97 GTS blue/white stripes has always been my favorite.

First off, I don't see how being .6 seconds slower in the 1/4 mile is really "hanging"....that's more like getting blown away if you ask me. But then again, those are the slowest numbers I have ever seen for either truck!

I've seen plenty of stock Lightnings run at California Dragway and they are always in the mid to high 13s - stock. The Ram SRT10s are a couple tenths quicker from what I've witnessed live and in person. Looks to me like those guys at Truckin' Mag are a bit slow!! Seriously, my modified PT Cruiser turbo runs 14.4 and there is no way I can hang with a Lightning, at least not the newer ones.

Love the Rumble Bee too! Great looking truck, and I'm not a truck guy, so that's saying a lot!!!

A very mildly modified Titan (like mine) runs mid to low 15's in the 1/4 mile. In IDEAL conditions some guys on titantalk.com have run in the high 14's.

Considering that, those times for the Lightning and SRT Ram seem VERY conservative. It had to a be a hot hot day...

The sweet part about the SRT/10 is that it breaths naturally. No supercharger or turbo means you can add a supercharger or turbo!

LOL!! Yeah, that's true, but......plenty of guys take the stock turbo off plenty of factory turbo cars and put a bigger one on! I personally know a couple of high 12 second PT Cruisers done up that way.

No matter how fast a car is from the factory you can always make it faster. Except for the Bugatti Veyron. Then again, if your pockets are deep enough.........
