      Hi Joe and all

I'm after some advice. Am detailing my first Boxster at the weekend and my 3rd paid Detail

The car is 4 years old and Lapis Metallic Blue and from what I understand pretty reasonable condition few minor scratches and one caused last week when the owner was trying to fit the hard top

This is my plan but would appreciate any tips as i really want to do a first class job, will post before and afters at the weekend.

Step 1 wash with Dawn equivalent as i dont know what is already on the car (probably nothing)

Step 2 Clay whole car with Megs Quik Clay

Step 3 Wash again with Megs GC

Step 4 Polish with Sonus SFX-2 (this came with the PC - Speed Glaze on order for last 5 days not arrived yet!) on a Polishing Pad at 3.5.

Step 5 Check results if required repeat step 4 or maybe move up to Sonus SFX-1 (is this too strong for minor scratches)?

Step 6 Megs DC Polish Step2 on a Polishing Pad at 3.

Step 7 #7 Show Car Glaze (may skip this)

Step 8 NXT applied with Finishing Pad at 2.5

Step 9 Remove NXT by MF Bonnet and hand

Step 10 Alloys with Hot Wheels and Tyres with Endurance High Gloss.

Step 11 Interior with Megs Aloe Leather Conditioner and carpets and dash with Megs Carpet and Interior Cleaner.

I reckon this should do the job, but is there anything i've missed

      Thanks for tips/advice

      Rob

I feel there isn't any reason to use anything other than Meguiars products. You have seen the car in this thread and it was done with 100% Meguiars. Why use anything else? If you don't have megs, wait for it . It will be worth it.

Step 1 Don't use anything as harsh as dawn. Use a soap made for cars

Step 2 Clay whole car with Megs Quik Clay-OK

Step 3 Wash again with Megs GC-OK

Step 4 Polish -You will need a number of products in your arsenal to choose from. I have everything from #80 on up to #85

        Step 5 Check results -OK

Step 6 Megs DC Polish Step2 on a Polishing Pad at 3.-I know very little about Meguiars retail products.

Step 7 #7 Show Car Glaze (may skip this)- Yes skip this. I find it benificial on old finishes only.

          Thanks for advice Joe.

Your sure right about Megs products, delivery takes and age from Meguiars in the UK but hopefully #80 will be arrive today or first thing tomorrow.

Will post pics on Sunday eve.
