Outstanding work, and great writeup too . You really brought that paint back to life! I only had enough time to briefly look at your work here, but did you accomplish this via DA or rotary?

Your prepwork and polishing obviously paid off, but that rich, dripping-wet look that you achieved makes me want to give M21 a try (even though I'm currently very satisfied with NXT). M21 seems to be a fair deal @ 64oz for under $40, too, and I see it fairly often in writeups lately .

All of the work was done with the D.A, and obviously where the D.A would not go I had to do by hand.

I agree that M21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0 is a great product, but the rich red wet look came from M83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish and even more so from M80 Speed Glaze.

After all the polishing work was completed, I stuck a finishing pad on the D.A and covered the whole Corvette with M21 2.0, waited 15 minutes then removed it from the whole car, did some work on the interior, detailed the wheels, wheelwells and tires and then I put a second coat of M21 2.0 on.

Prep work was the key here.

Thanks again everyone for the kind words.

The paint looks great, Nick. I'm with Aaron, the C2 body style has always been my favorite. I'm not a big fan of the blower and drag tires. I'd rather keep it stock. However, the F-650 in the background is a whole other story. That's what I'd like to have!!!

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

          Thanks for the kind words,

Believe me, You do not want to own that thing. The owner loves keeping it maintained after I gave it a full detail which inclueded M66 on the D.A.

But it is a real pain to maintain, It takes a good two hours to wash it and dry it and dress the tires.

Nick have you been testing out a No rise method? Seems you have a lot of cars that are not too dirty, seems I will have to take up a rinseless wash soon once the rain hits here

Hopefully what I am about to say will not turn into a flame war.

                Here it goes:

I dont really believe in rinseless washing, and neither does my client, and he picked that up from me. I believe in traditional washes in that they clean the paint, wheels, tires, wheelwells etc, the best and they are the best at reducing the potential to instill swirls or scratches when using the two bucket method with gritguards and good quality washing and drying tools.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I keep a consistent washing process for my details, whether its the garage full of cars here in this thread or any other detail. I have that process down and I like what its doing so why change it?

By the way, some of the cars and trucks in his garage are dirtier than you think.

I know this thread is a little old but I don't recall seeing it before. I saw the initial photos of the vette and it brought back memories of how quickly red can oxidize. I thought I was going to see some follow up photos of some flat, plain, but clean paint. I had no idea that the red was going to turn out that glossy! I understand that it's clear coat on top but still. I was very impressed with the shine, gloss and depth that Nick was able to add to that paint. Great job!
