Hello everyone,
When the owner approached me to do this vechile his main concern was that all the oxidation was removed and that the finish on his red Vette looked rich in color and had a very wet/glossy loooking finish. I invested two days on just the paint.
Here is how the finish of this vechile looked before doing anything to it:
I had to pull out a lot of Meguiars products to complete this detail, The end result would not have been possible without certain products that I needed to have on hand.
I used the following products to simply wash the vechile:
- #62 - Car Wash Shampoo and Conditioner
- All Purpose Cleaner
- Wheel Brightener
- Body Solvent
- Microfiber Wash Mitt
- Water Magnet Microfiber Drying Towel - X2
After Washing and drying the vechile I pushed it back in the garage ( doesnt start). and began by doing some test spots and dialing in a process. I am a firm believer in using the least aggressive method to get the job done. That said, I did a test spot with #80 - Speed Glaze. While it did make some improvement, I felt I could have moved up to a more aggressive product. I then did another test spot with #83 - Dual Action Cleaner/Polish and then went over that same spot with again with #80 - Speed Glaze. The oxidation was removed and by checking my work in the sun there was about a 90%-95% correction achieved.
So here is the offical rundown of products used for the rest of the detail:
-Last Touch Spray Detailer
-Detailing Clay (Aggressive) ( Spot treatments)
-Detailing Clay (Mild)
-#83 - Dual Action Cleaner/Polish
-#80 - Speed Glaze
-#21 - Synthetic Sealant 2.0
The rest of the lineup:
-All Season Dressing
-Hyper-Dressing
-Glass Cleaner Concentrate
-Hot Rims Chrome Polish
-#40 - Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner

The only thing I wish I had done was achieve 100% correction and take more sun shots, I pushed the car out halfway to get the ones I have already, maybe the owner will get it running. At least its no longer badly oxidized and 90% of the defects are gone.
