  • Lorinser S500 A Different approach

Here is a Super nice car, the before pics don’t show the imperfections but they are there. The owner takes very good care of his vehicles but was looking for the ultimate swirl free shine.

For this vehicle we went with a different approach than normal since we were looking to get the most out of an already nice BLACK car.

Here is a couple before shots, kinda hard to tell that it really does need a little attention but it does.

    STEP ONE

Like I mentioned we took a different approach with this vehicle, the first step wash to wash, clay and dry as normal.
Now on to the real deal.

We started the paint correction process with mirka abralon sanding pads on the pc, these are very impressive in the way they remove slight defects and level the paint in a very even and consistant manner.

Here are a couple pics of the car after sanding with the mirka pad on the pc.

      Step two

Now its time to polish out the sanding marks and restore the shine. For this step we used a cutting pad on the rotary with #84 ( compound power cleaner ) After a few passes with the rotary it was looking very very good, almost acceptable at this point. But seeking the ultimate shine and finish we continued to the next step.

Polishing, now we switched pads to a polishing pad on the rotary with #83 ( dacp ) as our product of choice for polishing any remaning haze, buffer marks or other small imperfections we might have not completely removed yet.
At this point the paint is looking really really good ! we could have stopped here and topped it with nxt and been done but I wanted to give it that extra POP!

Final polishing, for this step we switched to the pc with a polishing pad and #82. We went over the car at setting 4 on the pc and the car was looking better than new !

Final step was to apply a coat of nxt, I did the final step by hand, you cant go wrong after when the paint has been brought to this level, even if you apply the nxt a little thick it still wipes off with ease !

      And the reflection shot

Sometimes I need a wheelbarow to cart my stuff around

Benz, or an escort...no worries either way they get treated the same. Whatever level the customer is looking to achieve is where I am headed.

Keep in mind I sanded with 4000 pads. If you havent checked out the mirka pads you should give them a look. Its one sweet way to eliminate 99% of the cobwebs on a black finish. They take very little paint but sure smooth the finish and remove the cobwebs.

Thanks for the props guys !

Spoiled man, does that look like another strand house I have a few black Benz on the strand like that one.

Yea, I would like to try the Mirka papers but I can not seem to find a supplier up here! I will have to keep looking.
