Just wanted to say thanks for all the nice comments. I really enjoyed working on this car, and for Mike---I definitely have an affinity and a preference for working on single stage finishes now!

I am the owner of the 65 Mustang that Master Richard transformed and I just want to thank him for the hard work and devotion he showed... and yes I could not believe my eyes as the job was getting finished... The Stang used to sleep on the street... but for the past 2 nights she's been in a 2-car garage by herself... and she will always be ... Again many many thanks Richard.
Hey nice to see you here! You're very welcome! There's a funny result of this detail. Every day I would pass by this Mustang and think to myself, I bet I could transform this car. And now that it's restored, it's tucked away out of sight!
I think that's a good thing cause now I'm going to turn my attention to my other neighbor with the other Mustang and well, he's got a big 4x4 truck that I'm working on this Saturday...

Bob,
I really needed something fun to do. After the last Tacoma truck, my detailing slate was clean for the immediate future--not a good feeling looking at all this "free" time!
So this was a perfect & relaxing job for me and maybe it will lead to some referrals down the line, but more importantly for me, I got to know my neighbor--which is a pretty hard thing to do--find a reason to spend an entire day in one room with someone you just met.

Hopefully you & I will get to work together soon when we video my friends yellow 1966 Corvette. You probably have seen the pix in showcargarage.com. It has the original single stage paint and will be a real challange due to all the ridges on the body. I'm sure when we get done it will look awesome!

Richard, that looks terriffic! As someone who works on single stage paints a lot, the only suggestion I could make is using #7 between the 80 and #21. I know you were probably pressed for time due to the amount of work involved, but in the future if you have time and are working on a single stage paint I highly recommend giving it a try. Great job-I hope you got a fat tip and I am sure you will get many referrals from that fantastic job. Those pics must look great in your portfolio.
I want to commend you on your work and also on your write up. I am sure we all know how much time it takes to write that all up and post the pictures and I want to thank you. It was very enjoyable to come home and have this thread to read. Great Job

Richard,
your work is simply amazing and inspiring to me, even though that was a lot of work, I bet you enjoyed every moment. The difference you made in the appearance of that car is incredible. I bet you definitely made the owner VERY appreciative of your hard work.
I do have one question, when you remove emblems say the mustang emblem from the side, what do you use to stick it back on with? I have run into a situation where I knocked a small piece off of one of those emblems before with the rotary and have been paranoid around them ever since.
Your pictures and write up tell a great story, so thanks for sharing.
