  • M#21 Review

Yet another new product to clutter my shelves, I wasn't expecting much from this product after all the hype that surrounded NXT. Don't take that the wrong way I like NXT but when you expect to much from a product it never delivers. So with #21 I expected nothing more then the results I'm getting from NXT.

I tested #21 on a brand new 2005 Ford Harley Davidson Edtion. The vehicle was in great shape with minor swirls in a few areas. Being that it's black it was a good thing that the dealer wasn't able to get their detailer to prep it. I started with claying of the entire truck , followed by #83 with orange pads on my cyclo , I only did this step on the areas that had the minor scratches and swirls. I then followed up on the entire truck with #80 with green pads on the cyclo. The #80 gave the black a nice deep shine and a nice slick surface for the #21. I then applied #21 with the cyclo using white pads.

My impression of #21 are :

application - was a breeze with the cyclo alittle product goes alone way about 2 oz to do the entire truck.

dry time - it was a bit cold when I applied #21 so it seemed to take alittle longer then 20 mins to dry out.

removal - after #21 had dried completly it came off very easy there was no binding or skipping of the towel when I removed.

Now onto the bad , if I tried to remove #21 before it dried I got some annoying smearing but I believe the cold caused the prolonged dry time. Now for the next problem that I believe the cold caused , after I buffed #21 of I did a followup with NXT speed detailer to make sure everything was removed and had a helper follow behind me to make sure all residue had been removed which we both agreed it was. After parking the truck out side for about an hour we set up to take some photo's upon inspection we found some places that had wax residue on them still. Mind you it wasn't alot but enough to notice. I think that the cold caused some hazing in the areas where #21 was applied thick. All and all I think #21 is a very nice product a must have for profesionals who like and use NXT. I think the issues I had where caused my the wheather and nothing more. Overall I was impressed with the product and will purchase it again.

As for te look of #21 you be the judge of that , my personal opinion of the look is that t's wetter then NXT and more reflective then #20 but not as wet as #16.

Here are some photo's sorry no before's

    Hi:

This is another great product from Meguiar's. Your truck looks great with #21 on it. One of the things that I really like about #21 is how slick it is.

Sorry to hear that you had some removal problems. For me, it was easy to remove and it dried in about the same time as NXT. I buffed it off by hand with a microfiber towel, no smearing or residue.

Like you said must have been the weather.

    Regards,

      Hey,

Thanks for the write-up!! Plus, I love the truck!!!

After applying any Meguiar's Polymer or Synthetic Sealant, 'ideally' no type of QD or water should touch the paint for 24 hours. This will allow the product to set-up properly. Using a QD to even wipe down/remove residue may interfere with the set-up process. I too found that #21 took a little longer to dry before removal, especially in colder weather.

      Cheers!

ps. You have a precious little one there!! Love the Harley toque

KTruck I agree #21 created a very slick surface in my opinion comparable to Zaino.

2hotford thanks for the info on using a qd so far I've never had any problems but I usally use Final Inspection , next time I'll try it with #21.

The truck is absolutely awesome , it's actually my dad's truck his H2 just got taken back as a lemon so I convinced him to buy this instead of another Hummer. It's a 6.0 Powerstroke so the diesel is a big plus with the rising gas prices. I'm not a full size truck guy but I love this truck.

Being that my parents live next door to me I'll be able to keep a close eye on real world durabilty, I'll do updates at one month , three months and six months.

I'm very curious as to the six month evaluation!!!

Somehow, I escaped the initial fervor on #21 ... but I have some on the way. I'll use it on 15-20 cars per week. It is intended to replace the Klasse Twins, thusly eliminating an entire pass around the car (AIO).

          I have high expectations...

beads didn't drop off unitl about the 4th month they where still there just larger. Biggest plus was the shine was still there not really slick but a nice shine. Mind you this truck is abused to it's taken on construction sites and ran through car washes.

#21 is my go to product I really enjoy using it because of it's ease of application and remoaval. The look is close to Zaino which I like so it has served me well.

Been using #21 for a few short weeks now. I must say so far it's beating everything else on my shelf (for hold out). And this includes NXT (that seemed only lasted a few short day's on my Black vehicle).
#21 held up to the most 3 day un-Godly rain storm like it never even rained. And I traveled the hwy a speeds for several hours in this storm thinking it would just wear the #21 right off...NOT SO!
Also I tryed one of my soft cotton covered applicators pads...I like it much better than the foam/sponge pads, much easer to apply this product.
I'll use up my NXT on the drag boat and Truck...But my Corvette, new Black Toyota and Custom HD get's the good stuff...#21
