Wouldn't adding a finishing wax better preserve the wheels?

NXT All Metal Polysh contains a protective polymer in it.

        Hey,

I have thoroughly enjoyed the long last effects of the NXT Metal Polysh! Trust me...you would not believe on how many places I have used the polish; even on my aluminum fishing boat!!!!

          Interesting thread!

I never would have thought of using NXT Metal Polysh on coated rims!

Would anyone know if there is a slightly more aggressive product (than Nxt metal polish) that cleans chrome pieces?

I've been trying to get the twin tailpipes off the Benz back to showroom quality and been having one heck of a time with it. It's looking good for the most part except for a few areas that are just extremely stubborn to get clean.

So based on the above, would it make more sense to use regular NXT Wax or NXT Metal Polysh on my clearcoated rims? Combination?

Nxt Polish followed by Nxt wax could be an interesting combination on wheels. Probably wouldnt work on tail pipes because of the high heat.

Though on clearcoated wheels, you can also do the standard clay/clean/maybe polish/wax, etc.

If you are having trouble with some spots and the metal polish, maybe you can find a more aggressive applicator.. not sure though.

If you're rims are painted, and don't need any cleaning, then NXT Tech Wax would be your best option.

Just got some of this All Metal Polish...a very good product indeed!

Prior to trying this product I was hooked on Wenol Metal Polish, while a awesome product in it's one right, I must say.... the Meguiar's All Metal Polish appeared to give a better deep-mirror- gloss on my 81 Corvette's Aluminum wheels!

I'll be soon trying it on some Billet Aluminum parts on my custom HD and Hot Rod Jet Boat.

                      PS...thanks Mike

OK, if the NXT isnt aggresive enough, I have tried this is the past: *warning* please using extreme cauting when using this method!!!!!!! If you exhausts tips are close to the urethane painted bumper (like on the mercedes) then I suggest layering alot of tape on the surrounding paint!! I took this pic to show how dirty my twin exit exhaust can get after driving around i the rain: (not the best pic)

As you can see, thye can get nasty, the NXT metal polish will clean them up very well if you spend some time on each tipe, but in the spirit of experimenting I got the bright idea to try some laquer thinner on them. I applied the thinner to an old disposal rag, far far away from the truck, then walked over and carefully without touching the paint wipe the tips down, I was amazed! the stainless tips came 100% clean! I then topped them off with some NXT and was good to go. Just remember that Laquer thinner is no joke around automotive paint!

                          Need recommendation on cleaning wheels

I have a quick question to the masses...

I have a set of 3 piece wheels where the center part is chrome and the lips are polished....should I use the NXT Metal Polish on them?

I am a noob when it come to this as I don't want to mess them up, they are way too expensive to not apply the right product.

                          Pic attached:

                          What process would you recommend?

                          Thanks,

NXT All Metal Polysh is safe on all metal surfaces, so the answer is yes, our metal polish will be safe on the chrome center part and also on the polished lips.

Just to be on the safe side, it's always best to test new product in a small, inconspicuous area first and be sure the results you're getting are the results you're after.

Thanks Mike, I plan on being at the Club CL detail day and I will have my car there as well.

I will try that tonight or this weekend when I pull my wheels off to put the others on it and test it out with some before and after pics. I have heard that it is a godo product from others, which is why I purchased it, and they have had good results, but they were on painted wheels with polished lips.

It there a way to get the stuborn dirt our of the crack where the wheels are put together, or will I need to put some more work in those areas? Also, what is the best way to get them looking bright and chrome looking? By hand or with some type of assistance with a buffer?

Thanks for all of your help and responses.
