I agree with you but when this product is advertised as "beading water like crazy", one would expect some tight beading. The beading so far has not been impressive. The sheeting is nice. I have my factory hood in the garage. I will be applying it to that as well and leaving it in the garage for 1 week without it being in the elements.

Completely understand, let us know if the car stays cleaner and is easier to wash too.

Watch the video and see how the product sheets water off the surface. Meguiar's sealants (NXT, M21, UW) tend to be sheeting style products. Here are a couple examples of some beading.

Thanks for the review. I too, do like the sheeting action, but over all not sure if I am going to like to use this in place of UW. But I suppose that is most of us are here and this product isn't designed for folks like us that actual like and want to apply wax more. Although I am going to give this a try on my pop up camper because it only gets washed a few times a year at most and sits out half of the year. This might be great for something like that. It just has UW on it now.

I am going to be up front and let everyone know that this is an initial review of Pain Protect 365.

Here's the bottle



I originally applied it on Feb. 24, 2015. The hood of my car (which is my daily driver) is the test area. I polished out the hood with M205, followed by Detailer's Pro Prep Polish to remove the polishing oils from M205. I then applied Paint Protect 365. DP Prep Polish or any any product to remove polishing oils isoptional. There is nothing on the bottle which states it needs the surface to be free of polishing oils. I wanted to see how it bonds to paint with no polishing oils on it as well as how it looks considering this adds no gloss. I can confirm that this product adds no gloss.

The surface feels very slick after applying. I would think this would be related to the carrier oils within the product as well. It is stated on the bottle that there is a 24 hour cure time. In the Paint Protect thread, it is stated to not get the surface wet for 24-48 hours and to not wash the car for 1 week. Unfortunately my daily sits outside so it will not get the 24 hour cure in an enclosed area. The good thing is that the weather was in in the low 70's with a low in the low 50's.

It rained on Saturday so paint protect was on the paint for 4 days without being touched. I took these on Saturday night after a small shower passed through the area. You can see the beading.

On Sunday I gave the hood a wipe down with some D114. I took the hose and a nozzle to the hood to see the behavior of the beading. I had the nozzle set to the mist setting. This is what the beading looked like. These are on various areas of the hood. The surface was still slick after doing all this.







I took this short video. I had the nozzle set on show setting. You can definitely see the sheeting behavior of it.

Some final thoughts. First of all I can not comment on the durability but I will as time goes on. The application is easy on easy off. I followed the directions on the bottle of applying and letting it sit on the paint between 3-5 mins and then removing. It is a bit on the oily side so be sure to have plenty of microfibers on hand and continue flipping them. It is very slick after removal. We will see how that holds up after some washes. I was hoping for some better/tighter beading. The beading is more oblong shaped then tight spherical beads from what I have posted up above. One would be disappointed in seeing the photo of the beads on the bottles label and seeing the beading that I am seeing. I found the beading to not be any better than the beading I am seeing with white wax (which is currently on the car). So I don't see the "Beads Water Like Crazy". Also after seeing the behavior with water on the hood I would almost characterize this as being a sheeting style product as shown in the video.

I was expecting to be blown away by this product but so far it has not exceeded my expectations for it. Perhaps that will change as I use it a little more. I will post follow ups on how it continues to perform.
