I bought a 2002 corvette in the last few months, which is black, and did not realize the upkeep I was getting into. It is a constant job to keep the blemishes and scratches off the surface, but, it seems worth it when I finish the tasks. I live in southern california where I can enjoy my ride most every day of the year. I will be looking for tips from fellow members on how they approach the upkeep of their dark color cars.

Re: New member with 2002 black corvette
Welcome! Black just forces you to do what any vehicle needs doing. A few simple tips, like drying after a wash or rinse, using a duster, boosting with "quik" products instead of washing, etc, will make a big difference and prevent it from being so much work.Non-Garaged Daily Driver, DAMF System + M101, Carnauba Finish Enthusiast

Re: New member with 2002 black corvette
Welcome to the forum. Seeing as you are in California you may want to consider going to one of the thursday night classes. My uncle has a black 02 vette as well. Been trying to get my hands on it to give it a nice detail.
