Hi everyone,
As a very long-time lurker here, I thought it was well past overdue to register and pop my head out to say g'day.
I've been a self-and-friends detailer for around 3-4 years now, and have only recently expanded into proper business operations (last 5 months). Slowly built up a portfolio over time and now business is going quite the way I want it to that I've now got a proper premises. Happy days! Time to move out of the residential wash bay & garage, at last. It became a farce when some of my neighbours thought I had a new car each day or two.
Early on I found great strides with Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and have now divested into matching appropriate product to appropriate paints i'm presented with. Best thing I ever learnt myself was that no two paints are the same, so hardly ever am I using the same process with the same products twice.
So, here's a question for you all - your dream setup. I have a 30 car garage with semi-OK fluorescent lighting. There is a wet area to use, and plenty of dry/clean as well. What would you do first to the area if you could do anything? For me, as I have plenty of sunlight (Australia!), i've rigged part of the dry area with 8 x 1000W Halogens for checking as I go. Then, after each corrective or machine polish step, I find myself outside checking for holograms or buffer swirls (I'm a massive rotary fan).
So what would you do first? Mine was the halogen rigs and organising product shelving.
