Welcome to MOL! You won't be disapointed with your purchase, reading the links posted above will get you started in the right direction! Good luck and let us know how it works out. Feel free to ask questions as needed.

madsekci listed a couple of Meguiars foam pads. You want to use Meguiars pads and not the one included in the Porter Cable kit.

Is the porter cable the same thing as the g-100 and is it suiteable for polishing. I have read that to polish you want a rotary.

Re: Using the Porter Cable on my Silver Car?

A rotary is more powerful than the PC / g-100 but in good hands, the PC with #80 is capable of removing most defects.

Oh and yes, both are the same device but if I remember correctly, there's a difference in warranty.

madsekci is correct when he says they both are the same device.

G100A comes with a lifetime warranty, a Meguiars backing plate and polishing pad. The G100 is still a Porter Cable just with Meguiars name on it.

Porter Cables 7424 and 7336 are the same power unit but you will need to get Meguiars backing plate and pads, I wouldn't recommend using the pad(s) that come with the Porter Cable polisher(s). These only have a 1 year warranty.

If it were me it would be G100A all the way!
