We are going to conduct the contest a bit differently this time around. Here's how it works:
- Register for the forum and participate!
- Each post you place in the forum is an entry for our contest.
- Nominations are submitted by a registered user responding to this thread with a link to a specific post that was most beneficial in the past year. This is done using a link to the whole thread while specifying the post number and member’s name. For example:
Wow, "carcrazyguy" had an awesome explanation in Post #15 at http //www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/etc.etc.etc
- You can nominate anyone who responded to a thread; you do not have to nominate the thread starter.
- You might even want to nominate the person who asked the question. Maybe it was a new member who brought up a question that started a great thread and you learned a lot because of his question.
- Do not nominate within the thread where you found the post - we might miss that. You must respond to this thread.
- Once a quarter Meguiar’s will review the nominated posts and select the top 5 we feel offer great advice.
- The top 5 posts will then be voted on using this site.
- The post that receives the most votes during the voting period will be awarded the prize described above.
- We are NOT looking for the post with the most pictures, or the one with the best example of an extreme makeover, or one that shows off how good someone is at detailing. We are looking for posts that showcase your creative and innovative uses of Meguiar’s products and/or posts that thoughtfully address and solve a common problem discussed on this forum.
- The post might be quite simple; it could just have really cleared up a question that you've always wondered about. Or it might be fairly complex and it really opened your mind to something new.
- Meguiar's will select the top 5 nominations and then create a poll, which will give you an opportunity to vote for the most worthy post. At the end of the quarter we close the poll and the post/thread with the most votes wins the prize package.
So browse the forums, read the posts, make posts of your own. Ask questions. Answer questions. And come back here to nominate those you think should take home the prize!
This first round starts today, September 1, 2010 and nominations will be accepted until October 1, 2010. At that point Meguiar's will select the top 5 nominations and start a poll where you can vote for the winner. The poll will close on October 15, 2010 and the winner will be announced at that time. We will also start a new contest on that date.
