    I agree with that.

I still say turn it off, or drain everyone back down to zero???

I'm not sure the rep system is completely worthless, because it does show that at least some people are making notable contributions to the forum. However, I think it gets ridiculous when somebody gets a whole bunch of extra rep just because they had a little "ah-ha!" moment. Save it for the guy who took a grossed-out work truck or soccer mom van and made it look like new, or for the guy who took the swirled out car and made it look showroom perfect. That's where it should really go. But I will agree that it has gotten rather out of hand as of late.

    +1
My local Lowes was sold out of them and the next nearest store was 30 miles south of me. I called and asked them to hold one for me while grousing internally how a 60 mile round trip and two gallons of gas were going to make this great bargain a little less great.

Then I remembered that Home Depot price-matches Lowes! But even for a Black Friday item? Couldn't hurt to find out. I took the ad to my local Home Depot 4 miles from my house. Not only did they match it, they beat it by 10%!

I only give out rep points to people that add good stuff to the MOL. I love looking at the Shine and Show postings and do add a rep point for the poster IF they go more indetail to how they did the detail. It's got to be informative to get the REP! Pretty sun shots of the car don't get it.

Does the REP Power system work? I think so.

I just gave you rep points for this post and you jumped from 43 to 93. I must have superchargerd mouse-clicking mojo...

Well I've been giving reputation to everyone that has replied to this thread saying we should get rid of the feature of if they say it's useless.

    Ironic, no? Heehee

It does seem that a relatively small group of people have discovered the function and are using it quite a bit lately. We're not calling it an abuse of the system....... most of you aren't really taking it seriously anyway so what's to abuse, really? But since some of the numbers really are getting waaay up there, and very quickly, if enough feedback says to ditch it then we just may.

Continued responses to this thread are welcome, either way.

Hmmm...what have we all been saying for months, turn it off, its useless and pointless.

If we can change the name or tone it down a bit, maybe it's worth it, but not the way its working right now.

Yeah, it is insane how much some people have, and so little others have. I'd say it's time to turn it off. On some sites it is an accurate way of determining the "veteran" or experienced users, but I don't that is completely the case on MOL.

I completely agree. I don't base my view of how reputable someone is based on how many times they posted in The Answer and Ask Game

Maybe after we give me over 9,000 reputation, then we can turn it off.
