That's exactly why I ordered them. There was a thread that stated they are the same towels just in different quantity. I have bought some before and none have ever looked like this.

And soon u will discover y didnt I get 2 more of them when I had the chance. U will never have enuf towels but u are able to rotate them more so they last longer and ur not constantly washing the same ones over and over. Another good thing just to have is a few terry towels too. I wish meguiars still carried them cuz they were good quality. But don't worry I don't use them on paint. It would b for other purposes like the tires or rims or using on the carpet

You can never have too many microfiber towels

After washing and air drying, (like I do all my other towels) this was the result. https://www.dropbox.com/s/syvd13dlz1...%2030%20PM.jpg
A lot of lint and the edges which i thought were just lint are actually pieces of the microfiber. Out of the bunch, I believe there was 2 that did not have any defects. I compared them to my other Meguiar's Supreme Shine Towels and they look different. Not sure if this is normal

While I don't know if it affects Meguiar's products, one of the reasons I stay away from Wal-mart (aside from the crazy people!) is because most of their name brand products are not the same thing that you'll find in stores like your local super market. Wal-mart is so big and has so much buying power that they literally force name brand products to be made to their own demands. In order to meet those demands companies pump out a lower quality product. The same goes for many of the bulk stores like Costco and BJs. For example, if you buy a bulk box of Chips Ahoy at BJs you may find them to be overcooked slightly (i.e. pumped out faster to reduce product costs) or a box of Kleenex tissues may be thinner and not even retain their full size so that the two folds are barely there. Companies aren't stupid. They're not about to hand out tons of their product for less just because you buy lots of them. They'll cut anything they can get away with.

Well, I am buying a Meguiar's product because I know they work. There is a thread http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums...ighlight=X4020 saying how it's the exact towels but in different quantity. I was expecting the same quality that I have always had. I understand where you're coming from, but I did not expect what I got out of the box.

Think about this. Meguiar's has been building their brand reputation for around 113 years. I seriously doubt that they would jeopardize that reputation by knowingly selling poor quality products. I'm 100% sure these are the same Supreme Shine towels you would get if you were to buy direct from Meguiar's. If you get a product you are not satisfied with, simply call their toll-free customer support line, 800-347-5700, and they will take care of it. Meguiar's managed to stay on top of their game for over a century by selling quality products and at a good value point to satisfied customers. If they were to have sold second rate goods under their brand they would have gone out of business decades ago. There are very few companies I have found that are as good about seeing their customers fully satisfied with their products.

                    Re: Supreme Shine Towel Defects?

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Meguiar's doesn't fall into the lower cost/quality category just because it's Walmart. It wasn't my intention for my post to sound like that. I was more venting my disdain for Walmart in general. I think the most likely reason for issues that pop up with Meguiar's products is just bad product runs. It happens. And like others have mentioned, their customer care is outstanding and should get anything of concern quickly resolved.

Great post. This is what I was trying to get to. I don't think it was a fault on Meguiars at all. I will call them when they are open. Thanks!

I just compared the 3 pack I have to the 20 pack and quality between the two are on par. They feel and look the same.

Perhaps you got a bad batch. But Meguiar's will take care if you.

                          starvinmarvin,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I will send you a direct message this morning as well.
The 20 pack of microfiber towels that can be purchased at Walmart or Amazon are the same towels just bundled into a pack of 20. We do not make different grades of Supreme Shine Microfiber towels.

                            Re: Supreme Shine Towel Defects?

Marvin, a few questions for you, and forgive me if I'm sounding a bit harsh here - that is not my intent at all, just trying to understand a few things.

Why didn't you bring this to my attention at the last TNOG on Aug 21st? We could have resolved this right then and there. I know you've been talking off line with Brian Hann, our Customer Care Center Manager, about this. If your intent was to have them replaced, why did you remove the tags and wash them? We are happy to take care of you on this, but generally speaking a consumer's first line of defense is the retailer from which they purchased the item. That is, if you bought from Walmart, even though it was an online purchase, the first contact really should be Walmart. As we've explained in another thread here on MOL, Walmart and Amazon sell our towels in bulk packaging online, with unique part numbers that aren't normally found elsewhere.

But again, bottom line and the most important thing here, is that we want you to be happy with your purchase. We don't have access to this particular part number, but we do have bulk Supreme Shine microfiber towels on hand that we use for the training garage. We have them shipped to us here in Irvine from our distribution center in Memphis so that we don't run out of fresh towels - you can imagine what with all the training classes we do (Saturdays, TNOGs, Media days, product testing, demos, etc) we go through a LOT of towels around here. So, tell you what - set these towels aside and please do not use them. But bring them with you to the next TNOG and we will exchange them straight up with fresh, unused, unwashed, still labeled towels. We'll use the towels you received from Walmart in our training garage.

Now, as for the linting you've shown with these new towels, that is not uncommon at all. When you take a pile of brand new microfiber towels there is bound to be some linting from the manufacturing and cutting process. And depending on where in the production run these particular towels were, they could have actually picked up a lot of the linting from the rest of the run (ie, if these were cut from the end of the roll of material, or close to the end of the roll). It is highly doubtful that there is truly anything "wrong" with these towels, but that's really beside the point. You were not initially happy with your purchase, and we want to change that.

But in future, and this is not just for Marvin, please understand how common it is for any manufacturer to ask for any alleged defective item to be sent back for exchange prior to replacement. If you intend to use the alleged defective product for its intended use, we fail to see the "defect" and don't really thing they should be replaced. Removing the tags and washing the towels is, to us, and indicator that you intend to use them. That's fine, if that's what you want to do. But if you want them replaced, and we are more than happy to do so with brand spanking new towels, please refrain from using them at all and bring them with you to the next TNOG. Heck, if you want to, you can even stop by before then and I'll exchange them for you personally. Just please don't show up unannounced.... I would hate to be in a meeting or out of the office when you arrive and have you waste the trip. Remember, replacement towels are not coming out of any sort of warehouse inventory that everyone here has access to. Please call at least the day prior so we can make arrangements.

I agree davey! I have never experienced this customer service in my life. It's almost like it was in the 1950s when u said I will take my business else where and they would actually beg u to let them fix it. Nowadays they say screw u, I don't need ur business. U think 1 person is putting me out of business.i hate so much what this country is becoming. Our own govornment puts the worlds rights and needs above its own citizens even its own veterans.

Sorry to go off on a tangent , bottom line MEGUIARS has the best customer service i have seen in a long time,!!!
