You can use a little bit of either soap to add lubricity to your water. I have done it with a small amount of GC with no problems

Meguiar's #00 Hi-Tech Wash is the preferred wash for wet sanding, though I am sure you could use Gold Class as mentioned above. I use the #00 both in the bucket for the paper as well as in a squirt bottle (soap/water mix) for spraying while sanding.
Well in the 101 class. Mike P. said to use Ultimate Quick Detailer when sanding. Your bucket that you rinse & store in should contain a few drops of soap. That is what I use and it works just fine for me.
