  • How did I miss this? DeWalt DWP849X

I just found this on Amazon. Admittedly I have not been on the site much over the past few months, but when did DeWalt debut this beauty?

I copied the specs and features from Amazon and bolded the features I felt were significant. Has anyone tried the DWP849X? Any input or reviews from Tim Lingor or Superior Shine?

This is one AWESOME rotary polisher! Looks like DeWalt may have closed the gap significantly with the Makita 9227c

Looks good, however there is some conflicting information regarding the weight of the machine. Is it 8 lbs or 6.7 lbs?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Machine is awesome. just picked a new on on eBay and love it. The motor is electronically controlled, and the speed is direct reading on the dial. Example, you set it to 1400 rpm, its 1400 rpm. if you apply pressure the electronics up the current to keep it at 1400 rpm. It never bogs down.
I have a Porter Cable rotary that's about 15 years old and I like this machine much better.
      Hope that helps

A coworker of mine just recieved his a few weeks ago and it is a thing of beauty. Comparing it to the Makita (by pictures) I think I would have this one over the Makita. Right now it is on sale through a dewalt outlet center at an amazing deal for fathers day. Just ordered mine last night. PM me for info.
