    Re: Dynabrade Rotary converter

Had one did not like it , when you use on the hood of a car it would make the whole car shake. It also left alot of marring. If you have a rotary use it & just keep practicing. Go to a body shop ask for some old hoods, trunks or fenders & just keep practicing. It's not really that hard to use a rotary , hell i use one.

      Make sure to check this...

From what I know and the model I used...
It featured NOT a ROTARY movement, but a ROTATING movement.

So you will be switching between either a random-orbital movement, or a forced rotation/orbital movement.

Basically, you will be able to use the rotary machine as a random-orbital (like a Meguiar's G110), or as a forced rotation/orbital (like the Flex 3401VRG).

      Just letting y'all know.

Many people make the mistake of running the machine too slow(resulting in the severe vibration that you describe) because they are treating it like a rotary(1200-1700 rpm), but this is NOT direct drive, and the machine is balanced at speeds between 2600 and 3200 rpm(per dynabrade factory rep). It also seems to balance out more using a heavy rotary(b&d/dewalt).

FWIW, I always ran mine at 3000 rpm on B&D rotary, it performed flawless, but was heavy.
        I want 4" Softbuff pads!

          Re: Dynabrade Rotary converter

I have the small flex rotary that goes up to 3700 rpm's and the dynabrade works beautifully on it. The flex is designed for 6 inch pads so it will get hot after heavy use because it's not designed for that much weight.
