i was buffing with my rotary buffer using #83 using all the correct methods and procedures with a LC Orange pad... at setting 3 or 4 out of 6... also tried #80 with LC White pad with my DA polisher

do i need to go to a wool pad and #84?

If the swirls and scratches you're trying to remove using the M83 with a foam cutting pad are not being removed then you need to substitute a more aggressive product.

The rotary buffer with a cutting pad will leave swirls in the paint, so just to be sure, the swirls you're trying to remove are NOT being removed with the M83/LC pad?

That is, you're not removing the swirls and then upon inspecting the results looking at "new" swirls?

Also, you are doing a Test Spot? That is you're dialing in your system to a small area first?

If the above is all correct then try the M84 with the cutting pad and only work a small section. After working the section with the M84 wipe off the residue and inspect to make sure you're removing the original defects. Any swirls left by the cutting pad and the M84 can be removed in the next step.

The goal is to find a pad and product that will remove the original defects you're going after.

thanks for the help guys... ill try to move to a wool pad first them step it up to wool/M84
