Good to hear the DAMF worked for you...

Glad to see others on board with this. It was really a simple change that helped me a TON. The only kink in the DAMF system is the constant cleaning of the pads. I don't have the air lines, so I had to use the pad brush. Maybe I went overkill on the cleaning/fluffing but I felt like i was doing this pretty much after every pass on 2'x2' area. Again it could be me doing this too much, but in all the application instructions it clearly states to not overlook this part of the process. Maybe if i had an air line and could easily blow it, it would be slightly better. Not that it is difficult to clean, I am just an impatient person. I do think that the instructions i used had the cleaning speed too low. At (1) I could barely get the pad to fluff/clean. I had to notch speed up to between (1)/(2) to get the brush to work well enough. I was also using a speed between (4)/(5) for the DAMF use, rather than recommended (4) because of my paint and that (4) slows rotation too easily with moderate pressure. Other than these very very minor things, this system is great.

Just wanted to follow up after many months and many polishes later. DAMF system does remain my favorite system for my car. I have recently been using DAMF pads with Rupes 21 with great success on my paint. This is teamed up with 3" DAMF on G110v2 for hard to get to spots. Paint looks perfect. Have learned the right product combos after lots of experimenting. Also on Rupes I use only finishing discs not cutting. This solution was only derived by step by step experimentation...exactly what I said I didn't want to do I previous post. But I used jobs to fund my products and learning process was heavily assisted by MOL members. Happy with my results so far. I've come a long way in 10 mo. my car too.

Also having trouble with ultimate compound, Do I need to use something finer to get rid of the swirl marks after?

What are you applying it with? Hand/DA? How bad are the defects you're trying to correct? You can use Ultimate Polish after Ultimate Compound, but usually UC finishes fairly swirl free- paint depending of course....
