  • Question about the SECCO 6" Professional Dual Action

I'm curious about a SECCO 6" Professional Dual Action Random Orbital Polish. I found it on Ebay Dirt Cheap.
Here is a website for it. http://www.specialtydiamond.com/Shop...id/0/SFV/32937

I want to know what the pro's think of this machine.
    Thanks in advance.

Re: Question about the SECCO 6" Professional Dual Action

It looks like a sander/ polisher because of its dust collecting bag.

If you're gonna use it primarily for polishing I would rather stay with brands which have good and well known reputation: Meguiar's, Porter Cable or Griot's.

Pricewise you won't really save much but those known brands will offer you selection of all sizes of backing plates and buffing pads to go with.

Yeah, I wonder about the dust bag. I would want to take that off. On Ebay they have one that is currently at $15 with 2 days left. Just curious because I'm thinking for that price, I can't hardly turn it down.

        That price is probably unbeatable.

I'm sure that you can remove the dusting bag when used as a polisher and attach it back when sanding.

Makita has a similar DA sander/ polisher with forced rotation. Same thing - removable dust collecting bag.

I'm hoping it can stay low like that. lol. That would be a great deal. Definitely keeping on eye on it.

Something weird is going on with the bid. As soon as I place a bid it is outbid. There wasn't a minimum listed, so I'm not sure what is up with that.

Sounds like the previous bidder set a max bid which I would think would continue to outbid you automatically until you go over their max bid or else they have notifications/watch the item to re-bid after you place yours.

That's an auto bid feature eBay has. You set a MAX bid and eBay will bid for you up to that amount.

Well that just *****. lol. Oh well. I'm currently the high bid on one of them. Hopefully I win it. Tired of doing it by hand. I get good results, but I want really good results. And with the new Microfiber system, I want great results.

I didn't see any mention of variable speed.

Yes it does have variable control.

But I figure if I can get it for less than $50 and it will get me through a season or 2 GREAT!!!

Looks like it would be serviceable. Hope you get it. Good Luck.

Well with less than 1 minute to go someone outbid me. So I didn't get it. But there are other ones so we'll see what I can pull out in the next few days.

Well, the post from earlier I didn't win the bid. Oh, Well no biggie. Woke up this morning with a "second chance" to purchase it at my top bid. Either the other person backed out or they figured since they had another they would offer it. Either way "I WIN" So I just ordered it and it should be here either Friday or Saturday. I will post an opening of it and after I do some work with it.
