  • Queation about counterweights and Backing plates

    Hello Everybody

I was thinking about buying a Meguiars DA Backing Plate and some Soft buff 2.0 pads. The backing plate is 5.75 inches so should I also buy a 6" counter weight or will I be fine with the 5" counter weight.

Any Input will be greatly appreciated, Thanks

I asked this question before and Megs replied that they had a bunch of guys try two polishers one with the 5" counterweight and one with the 6" counterweight and they couldn't tell the difference.

Now with that being said if you are sanding or working at speed 6 maybe you would feel more vibrations.

I dug up this old thread for you Ravi.

Unless you end up doing mass production and you get super picky with your tools in which case you'll likely be using rotaries 95% of the time, I'm sure you'll be just fine.

        and you're welcome.

I understand, you're still getting set up though and you're almost there. This stuff will pay for itself, soon you'll only be buying refills and try a new thing here and there.

Now when you start buy $200 waxes, you already have a shelf full of them and you're hiding them from your wife, that's an addiction
