Re: Order is on its way!!!

So here is what I need to do:

Truck: Smooth after QD but has some web scraches
Wash, (Skip Clay dont need) M80 on test spot with 8006 pad if that works (with no swirls) finish the rest of the truck, spray down with QD and dry by hand Then wax with NXT 2.0 with 9006 let dry, take NXT 2.0 off with 7006 with MF bonnet. Enjoy?????

After this to maintain inbetween just wash and QD? then do the above process in about 6mo because this truck stays in the garage 95% of the time (not a daily driver). If it needs waxed inbetween do I wash clay m80 wax? or can I wash clay wax or does that defeat the porpuse?

On the NEW Accord (4 mo old): Daily driver, Has one minor scratch
What would be the best option?

    1. Wash, Clay, DC1, DC2 wax by hand?
    2. Wash, clay, wax by hand
    3. Wash, clay, sratchX 8006, skip polish, wax 9006 with DA
    4. Wash, Clay, M80 8006, wax 9006 with DA

I'm sorry to be a pain but I just want to make sure Im doing this right.

The above looks good, remember to do a test spot. If it were me, I would clay, when I bought my Neon new, I thought of not claying it but did anyway and you would not believe how much overspray and junk I got off of the car. You can wax inbetween, also try the Ultimate Quik Detailer, it's great stuff.

Not being a pain at all

If it were me look at the condtion of the paint, look for swirls and other scratches and determine what you need to do. Claying is a good start. If it were me and no swirls are present, use DC#1 by PC 8006 pad (to clean the paint), ScratchX for the scratch(es), then DC# 2 (optional) then wax (2 thin coats, most like to wait a day or 12 hours to add second coat) and remove if you like by 7006 and bonnet (never used it).

If you have swirls, start with DC#1 as it can take out mild swirls then move up to M80. I read a lot that Honda paint on the newer cars is soft and M80 just may be too aggressive.

      Different combos may be needed.

DC#1 8006, or 9006 pad if too aggressive (marring for instance), M80 with 8006 pad or again, use 9006 if too much etc etc. I think I read a member ended up using ColorX (a paint cleaner/wax all in one) to get the final polishing done followed by your favorite wax.

Test spot is important in this case so you don't do the whole car and not like it!!!

I forgot to mention that I just did the 5 step on my truck about 6 mo ago and have driven it about 6 times for only about 30 miles round trip. So I think I should be good on the caly. It looks good but I just want to get the web scratches out of it!!

I live in a rural area, I could clay every 2-3 months or sooner if I wanted and when I do, I do get some ick on the clay.

I just copy and paste your quote. In between these [ ] QUOTE=Speedway;259126 and at the end of the quote, I put /quote with [ ] around it.

I might try to clay and see what I get!! When you clay do you take off just the wax or do you take off the cleaner and polish previous applied??

The clay will remove clay and polish as far as I can tell. The cleaner is used to clean the paint and you wipe off the cleaner and it does not stay. Thus, re-waxing (polish optional) after claying.

Be sure to post some pix and don't get discouraged if your test spot goes awry, that's what the test spot is for, get a process dialed in, after that, smooth sailing.
