When you remove a scratch you are technically removing clear coat or paint around it to bring it all to a level surface. The cutting ability of a polish is how fast it will remove this layer of clear to bring the entire surface even. When referenced as in his post when he mentioned the "cut" in the polish he was referring to the abrasives contained in the product and their cutting power.

Bringing up an old thread but I was working on that Fit today and after color X the holograms were still slightly there. I called the Megs hotline and talked to Mike Stoops. He suggested I use M 66 on a finishing pad speed 2 with the G110 with light pressure. I went ahead and did that and it worked great Thanks Mike. Here is a link to my detail

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

        I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.

          Glad this worked for you...

Are you sure he said use the 2.0 Speed Setting? That's slow enough that the pad probably won't be rotating at all even with light pressure. Usually for removing light haze with ColorX or M66 with a finishing pad you would use the 4.0 to 5.0 speed setting.

Just want to double check because Mike's pretty good when it comes to the art of polishing paint.

I am pretty positive he said to use speed 2. It was rotating while I was using it. We can wait for Mike to chime in
