    Re: Was I Misled?

I got my 7336 from Lowes...$109. It is actually a sander/polisher. It came with a sanding disc also and the cheapo white pad. So if you do any woodwork, it's a good investment. You can use the cheapo pad to wax your fridge, lawnmower, stove, washer dryer, polish bathroom tile and glass stove tops. Just not your car!

Don't worry SVT Lightning. You bought it at Lowes and it's a PC. You have a warranty. Good thing you didn't buy a G100!
It's only weird because it's not normal

        Re: Was I Misled?

        i don't think he's saying that.

let for my case, i have a G-100 and it has the logo on it so i'm covered.

so long as you bought it and it has the MEGS logo on it and it came in the Meguiars box then you're okay.

but if you bought it somewhere else and they siad it was the Meguiar's one, essentially they all are (7424 and G-100) just one says Porter Cable (no warranty) and the other has logo (warranty). it could be the salesguy was saying this is the MEGS one (the one meguiar's using - but didn't say it was a MEGUIARS product per say). know what i mean.

i bought mine from Meguiars at a show, but i believe if you buy it at a retailer ( i know a local guy sells them) and it has the MEGS logo you get warranty.

Good job walking away because you can find both machines online for almost $100.00 less.

How about an example of why that isn't right: I buy a Dewalt drill at Home Depot. Why? Because I can't drive to Dewalt and buy it directly. Now let's just say I have a problem with that drill. Dewalt doesn't tell me there's no warranty because I didn't buy it directly from them; they tell me to bring it back to where it was purchased. Home Depot replaces my drill and I'm on my way.
This has come up before... you go back to where the G100(not a 7424 or 7336) was purchased initially in this case ADS, kind of like the example you have above. Now I can't speak for Meguiars but in the post it sounds like Meguiars will go the extra mile to make the customer happy and there should be no worry about the warranty.

Following your logic here you are absolutely correct. You would take your buffer back to ADS where you purchased it from and you are on your way. That is exactly what we are saying.

The only other thing to be aware of is that Meguiar's lifetime warranty is a separate warranty from the manufacturer's warranty. We choose to give a lifetime warranty for those who purchase it directly from us and that is also built into the cost of the machine. Porter Cable the manufacturer gives a 1 year warranty with the machine.
