Only the Meguiar's version has the lifetime warranty. The others (7336, 7424, etc) have a one year warranty.

Maybe you are doing something too tug on the cord, and loosen it up inside?

I catch the cord all the time. Front wheel, rolling stool, my foot. Would make sense that is what caused it if it is a power cord thing.

We need to see a video of Lt1Corvette using his PC. Could be VERY interesting!

Haha, well, I did purchase the Mr Clean Car Wash thingi years back and after quickly finding out it did not work as expected, began hunting for other uses. Even tried it out as a dog washing until. Worked better at that than it did on the car.

Maybe we need to rig up something to keep some slack on the cord, so any tug pulls on the cord and not the attatcment in the machine.

i have had mine 7 years and it it used everyday except when we are closed for the holidays. this is when i clean it up. and it has never seen 6

I usually have the cord wrapped around my arm once and over my shoulder. I don't ever want the cord to hit the paint.

Dropped it off at a Porter Cable Factory Service center. We'll see.

Loop the cord once around your neck. That way, you'll know for sure if you get it caught on anything. Your neck is softer and has more "give" than the cord's attachment point aty the rear of the PC.

Haha, I could see that approach being a lot costlier than a repair on the pc every few years.
