No, it hasnt been dropped, I did use a standard wrench to remove the backing plate since I didnt have the thin wrench that comes with it. Im guessing this put too much stress on something in there and it has come to this.
Probably used a a kijillion of these things to date and never seen with a loose drive unit like this? Without the factory spanner wrench it's really tough to get into where the shaft is to hold it tight while removing or tightening on a backing plate. Not sure what would have caused this but it's important to find a secure place to keep your spanner wrench so you always have it when you need it.
Is that a Meguiar's G100 or a normal PC?

Its a normal PC, bought off ebay, it was factory reconditioned, thought I was getting a deal, but havent been able to use it yet, Im suspecting that this may have been the cause of why my PC and #80 on 8006 pad is not working as well as I had thought it would.
Anyway, I contacted the vendor I purchased it from to inquire about having it repaired/replaced. Hopefully he will have some good news.
