Hey guys, so im ashamed to say i apparently dont know how to clean interior upholstery. Im very good at exterior care, but when it comes to carpet etc. im either not using the right products or im doing it wrong.

I had a car the other day that had the most disgusting carpets ive ever seen...and i was unfortunately not able to do much of anything about it and this is not to my standard at all. Although most times i work on cars that are in good shape when i get cars like these im a little stuck.

Does anybody have some good links to shampooing how tos, or just want to give me a basic run down of what they do to clean stains etc. ?

Another question...what are you guys using for leather care? All the leather care products ive seen are made for LEATHER...however leather in cars are coated/painted so your not actually touching the leather...so im not gonna spend $20 on a bottles of lexol cleaner and conditioner.

    Re: Need help

I like to use a small number of products and simple techniques. For the carpets, I like the "Resolve" indoor shampoo and a normal vacuum cleaner. For the mats, I can pull them out and brush Resolve in with the brush attachment. For leather, I use Gold Class Leather Conditioner, which is very lotion-like, and for the other non-leather and plastic I use Ultimate Protectant. For my seat inners, which are a red mesh nylon, I just use dish soap or a wet rag and a light touch. For the windows, I've tried everything, so I've given to simply using my MF rags as I do my QD/QW work on the exterior, and that waxy residue in the rag gets the interior glass clean enough and relatively streak free.

    Hope that helps
