No, it really is wood. But it is wood with a protective coating. I'm not sure how think it is or what it's made of though. I've called a few people at BMWNA , and I'm hoping to hear back from them tomorrow.

The issue is that this is a 2 month old car. I wouldn't be so upset if I had been abusing it for the last few years. But two months?!?! Come on!

I'll try Swirl X tomorrow...

FiveSouthDetailing, since you're new to our forum, just to point out we offer these open garage classes on Thursday nights starting when Daylight Savings Time kicks in and ending when it's over.

Since you're in Irvine, why not bring your BMW by and you'll have access to Meguiar's Staff and all our product line to dial in a system approach to remove the swirls out of the coated wood trim.

Your "wood" has been clear coated...Get ScratchX 2.0 or swirlX, will make it look like new.
