In my experience, Meguiars #40 is a great product I use on the dash and other plastics/rubber and cargo cover. People get in the car and think it's an 07 and it's a '00 Yukon with 127,000+ on the clock. I love it. And..it protects the plastic/rubber

The M40 scent is about as close as you can get to recreating that new car smell... the best part about it is that it's an amazing protectant as well.

Follow all the above advice. No food, drinks, smoking. Then use #40 and you should be smelling that new car smell for a long time.

with everthing above and just to add don't forget to periodically shampoo the carpets. You will be surprised what can be pulled out of them even with frequent vacuuming.

Just to add, if you pick up some fast food to take home (since you or anyone else is not eating in the car, right?): keep your windows down the entire trip home. Fast food will make the interior smell extremely fast and for a while too.
