My wife just recently purchased a dyson vacum for the house and my shop vac bit the dust. I vacumed my Jeep with the dyson using the mini-turbine attachment. It only took me a quarter of the time that it takes me normally to vacum the car and the carpet came out cleaner and nicer looking than before. The dyson has way more suction than the shop vac ever had. The turbine head even sucked out the lint and hair that even the interior brush can't get. If you have a dyson (especially with the mini turbine head), give it a try!

I think the model is a DC14 complete. It has the telescoping wand for the stairs. It should do hardwood floors without an attachment. My wife uses it on our vinyl and tile floors. I would be careful though, it has very strong suction and might scratch the wood. You must stand for something or you'll fall for anything.
