Nasty Milky Stain HOW DO I GET IT OFF!!!

Ok so i just got done cleaning my rims and was onto detail the engine compartment, and when i popped the hood to my horror i have a milky looking stain all over the plastic on top of the radiator and on the hard plastic intake elbow and manifold. Now both pieces are hard black plastic. It looks like someone sprayed rim cleaner on it! I dont use wheel products under my hood so one im confused how it got there. But what i wanna know is if theres anyway i can get it off? Ive already used both types Gunk engine cleaner and degreaser and a few others that i cant remember of the top of my head. But my question now is CAN I GET IT OFF? AND HOW? HELP!!!

This is hard to say as you don't know what it is.Can you upload a pic?

First off, to MOL!

Second, DON'T PANIC! Have you tried applying a dressing to the affected areas? You might try a few applications of Supreme Shine, Natural Shine, or M40 Vinyl & Rubber Conditioner and see if that takes care of the problem. What kinds of degreaser did you use? Did you happen to use Simple Green by any chance? Because Simple Green will stain certain materials. Not sure what to tell you beyond that. Welcome to the forum!

If gunk didn't work,then it's not oil contamination.

and ive tried scrubbing it with a brush, and that didnt do anything, but when i use my fingernail it kinda comes up. but im not gonna scrape my engine compartment with my fingernail ill be under the hood for days

There's still no pic.(incase you think there is).

It sounds like something is encrusted on your plastic parts.If we could see,it would help a lot.

I don't think you can "remove" them
But maybe you can cover them up by treating it with a dressing

yeah, ive posted the pics twice it keeps saying waiting for moderator approval. some of it has come off a little but the biggest stains are still there. some of it came off the intake, but NONE will come off the radiator except when i scratch then it comes off in very very small amounts

Maybe an APC, a brush and some passion will work.
