I'm not sure how many cards you think you will need, but check out your local Staples. I just bought 250 cards to print onto at home for under 10 dollars. And they have free software with many templates to choose from. Just a suggestion.

Good info. I went there today. So what you purchased was some card stock and the stock had software to help design. Cool! Thanks.. I'll do that.

        b-cards

please be profi on your cards, they're your company, when you're not there.
i got them printed,by a printer, and he helped me with the design too.
i saw a couple of demo cards in his book, and then i saw a design i really liked.
originally designed for web activities, but this card showed me cobweb, and i knew that that's the one i had to get.
printed 250 for $ 17,49 incl.vat, and other costs (the printer is a friend of mine) and if i want to do a follow up,i can order a 1000 more for only $25.
i know this normally will cost a lot more, but a sharp looking card, will do more for your business, then a home printed card,
        lke we,our custimers see the difference,between homemade,and prof.quality.
be serious about your business, pick a good design, and let them print.

        ciao,

        Rick

            Scrub,

            OK, you asked for it!

I took the cityscape graphic off Detail City's web site. Shhhh! Don't tell anyone

Of course, I know you wouldn't use this exact graphic, but just to get an ideal.

Scrub, I just thought of a minor twist in the tag line that makes more of a connection regarding car detailing and the pride you take in your town/city/community!

Now, I have to go take two aspirins and get some rest!

Agian thanks... This time you went over the top. Very nice looking. That's the idea I was looking for. I will find a different graphic.

I wanted to try photoshop with some different pictures. Way out of my league..

                Thanks again for the help.

very nice.. but i think you are only go automotive... then i think a nice looking car on a dark card would impress a little more.
and "pop out of the card"colours for the text you want..

i made also something for you...

not as even good as i did in my earlier years... i worked in a copy shop an also made a lot of buisiness card for customers.

on a black shiny card this would be very nice 120grams paper weight.

well offcourse i didn't know what car you want (if you want one one it) do you want classic, modern, ....let me know what you think of it..

I've been checking out bulletin boards and looking for cards thet grabbed my attention. My thoughts, bright colors made one card stand out from the cards. Fact is on the boards I've been studying, very few cards are that outgoing so to speak...

As for the card Its perfect.. Everything I was lookin for. What programs did you use for this? I have photoshop 4. Will this work? Can you assist me with the design aspect or is this something above the casual user?

                        Thanks again for the design.

Thanks for all the replies!! This has been one of the most informative topics on business preplanning/startup. I hope others else can review this info in the future and have a great road map to small business success.

I used Pohotoshop CS (photoshop 8.0) but i think you can get on a long way to get nice results with Photoshop 4.0

ok well let`s get the job done!

one of the first questions is:

wich style do you want to use? you like it the classic style, or do you want a modern style with futuristic looks?

wich type of text? any specific fonts ...fonts

Wich colours do you want in wich combination related tot the card?

Any special thoughts about an image background yes/no?

how do you want the text to be represented on the card (outlined, center, left, right...etc)

Any things you definetely don't want on it

let me know and i'll try to fix you something i hope you like.

                                one more from Rotterdam!

i gave some thoughts about the"what can you do for the customer"thing, and i created a new word, that says what you can do for any customer, and says it all".

                                simply:

                                detail Aiken,
                                auto beautyfication

it's new,i think, this means creative,it brings out the message, and, evryone knows what your business is all about, without bluffing the customers away.
                                what do you guys say??????
