If that is true. How does this product contain a wax without destroying itself....? ColorX strips wax, but not the wax within itself? technology rules?

Probably the fact that the abraisives diminish.

I have a question about colorx. So, say I have some light swirl-age. When applying it, will I need to work it in? Like, make several passes over an area with my even coat applicator?

I can say I have no idea how it cleans and waxes at the same time. I am sure it works the same way as the A-12 cleaner/wax that has been around for 50 years or so. So I figure they have it all worked out. And it certainly works well. An answer to that would be interesting though.

It can remove light swirls, though not as well as ScratchX. You would want to work it in very well, with some passion as Mike would say. A little more pressure than you would use for a regular wax.

Terry cloth or the Even coat applicator would be best, as they ae a bit more agressive than just a foam applicator, and the extra bite can hellp remove defects.

How come the even applicator or a terry cloth will provide more bite than a foam applicator?

A foam applicator, at least Meguiars, has no real texture to them, esp. when lubricated with product.

Remember that to remove a scratch, you must remove paint. What will do this better, a smooth lubricated surface, or a surface with some texture?

The extreme of this is sandpaper, but for a little swirl, dont want to break out sandpaper. The loops of material with the lubrication are just a mild amountof bite for a mild problem.

Another way to describe it is the terry loops provide for more drag, or friction across the paint surface.

Is it safe to use ColorX often?

Absolutely, and this is what makes ColorX a great product.

If you use it with a terry cloth, working firmly/passionately, it will be more agressive, remove swirls, etc, while working in polish as well.

If wiped on gently, worked in lightly, with a foam applicator, it is quite gentle cleaning, polishing, and waxing the paint.

Even the Even Coat applicator can be used often, just more gently for regular maintanance, more passionately for removing defects.

Claying before using ColorX gives fantastic results, topping with another pure wax after can be even better. 3 steps (plus washing) and a great finish, cant beat that.

The first time I detailed my car I did the 5 step process. I put 3 coats of NXT wax on the finish. I didnt really inspect the finisha t the time since it was my first time. I was still new to the products. I noticed some parts on the trunk was still gritty. I didnt clay good enough apparently (first time). So the next time I do a full detail should I ColorX first then clay, then ColorX again, because theres stuff below the wax and probably on top of the wax by now.

Some people have had trouble claying over very fresh wax, like days old. If you plan to wait a few weeks, let this wax start to wear off, etc, just washing, then claying should be fine.

Keep in mind you should notice right away whether the grittiness is gone. No need to proceed to anything else if it still feels gritty.

Oh this has been about a month ago I didnt check the grittiness after I clayed because I was still a noobie. The 3 layers of wax has been a month old. Im planning to give my car another full detail in december. So I waxed over the grittiness and theres prbably some on the wax by now. I wasnt sure if the clay would get the grits beneath the wax. On top I know it would, but not sure about underneath, so thats why I was wondering should i ColorX the car first so i elimate the wax so then i would be working on paint.

Well, if you ColorX, you'll actualy just add wax back onto the paint anyway, and cover over the dirt again.

You'll be in good shape in December to just wash then clay, then ColorX, etc.
