It has been awhile since I last visited, because I was taken care of so well when I first received my DA, but I'm back with probably some more newbie questions.
Last weekend I washed my car and got it looking great, and called it a day. Later that night I walked out into my garage and noticed a water streak down from my passenger and driver's side mirrors. Those with Corvettes are probably well aware of this problem. No matter how hard I try to keep up with the drips in these problem areas, water magically appears. I have even used a blower to try and "blow" the water from these seals but to no avail. But I digress.....
I hit the streaks with some Speed Detailer, but it didn't come off. It had dried and left some nice white lines running down my door. Being a black car, they really showed up. So I went and grabbed my Scratch X and went to work on it. The SX took it off nicely, but yesterday when walking out to my car I saw almost like a hologram effect of where I was working.
Was I being dumb in really working the SX. I thought I remembered someone here (MOL) saying that you can really work the SX and should use it until the diminishing abrasives break down. Did I work it too long? I followed the application SX with some NXT (all by hand), but it almost looks like I need to pull out the DA and use some #80 to get rid of what I had done. Seems a little counter productive when I could have just used the #80?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
