Nope, or at least you should not have any problems. I feel like this is a loaded question. However, I use it a lot on my vehicles and never have had any problems. Besides, iit is Clear Coat Safe.

Did you use it? How does it look?

The car looks great. I couldn't find anywhere on the bottle afterwords that it was clearcoat safe. I don't want to continue using it if it damages the clearcoat. So you think its safe?

Well, it doesn't say it at Megs Online store but it does say ALL FINISHES. Read Below:

          DC Cleaner

This non-abrasive paint cleaner has been improved to deliver even stronger performance with no chemical odor. It safely removes road grime, surface contamination, light oxidation, swirls and light scratches to restore damaged and dull finishes. Prepares all paint finishes for polishing and waxing. For most effective cleaning, use with our Even-Coat Applicator and remove excess product with a Supreme Shine Microfiber or Ultra Plush Super Terry.

I know it is safe, I just can't find the words that say it is. I use it all the time on my Clear Coats. Well, the polish more then the cleaner at least. I don't nead to clean the paint every time I "Do The Car".

I will let others add to this thread.

I would hope so because I as well have been using these products along with others and have had no problems. So I would have no worries. It seems to me that most car products are clear coat safe now days. Welcome to the site as well, I too am a newbie here

              Welcome of course..

And just to add on, Everything in the Meguiars line is clear coat safe when used properly. And the consumer line of products is almost impossible to screw up. You will have great results for years to come on both clear coat and sinlge stage paints with the DC system, plus anything else you use from Meguiars.

As far as mentioning it on the bottle, I think you are right in noticing that it isnt mentioned as often these days, one of those things that is sort of fading into normalcy. But it is important to know that other manufactuers may still do things the old fashioned ways and can make a car look worse.

It does say it on the bottle !!!

At least the one in the catalog does. I would have to look when I get home at my own bottle. There is a Clear Coat Safe Statement on the lower left side of the bottle, just above the fender of the car pictured.

I wouldn't assume that most cars are BC/CC, but I would assume that most if not all products are going to be clearcoat safe unless they specify being for single stage. Or of course the ceramiclear products.

If it wasn't clear coat safe, you would have a bad haze over the entire vehicle.

All the stuff you hear us talking about is clearcoat safe.

You don't have to worry about Meguiar's being not clearcoat safe. Honestly, 99% of all cars are probably clear coat and Meguiar's Sells stuff to the public and professionals.

You have nothing to worry about, so be confident you can buy Meguiar's. They even have a Rx, Car Crazy Advice, a Telephone Number if you get stuck or have a question about a specific product, this forum, and a return policy.

I have never had to return anything to Meguiar's because everything has always been worked exactly how it is supposed too. You will not find a company with better support, In My Opionion.

I highly recomend you buy their stuff and stick around in the fourms. The people here will guide you exactly as to what to get for the results you want, so you only buy the products you need. They can walk you through an entire detail and you can probably get everything for under $50 for the exterior, and probably another $25 to $50 for the inside.

Things I would buy if you have nothing:
                          Nxt Soap
                          Nxt Tech Wax
                          Wax Applicator
                          Wash Mitt
Assorted Drying Towels (Terry, MicroFiber, Watermagnet...)
                          Quik Detailer or Speed Detailer

                          DC 1 or ScratchX
DC 2 or possibly a glaze.

That should be enough and probalby doable under $50.

                          For Interrior:
Quik Interrior Detailer (must get this one)
                          Cockpit Shine/TechProtect (excellent protectant)

                          Glass:
                          Duo-Fiber
                          Nxt Glass Cleaner

                          If needed:
                          Odor Stuff
                          Carpet Cleaner

                          Wheels:
                          Hot Rims All-Wheel-Cleaner

                          Tires:
You should clean them with a tire cleaner such as Nxt Tire Cleaner, or you can use the car soap. Some use Dawn, some use Bleach... I use Nxt Tire Cleaner.

                          Dressing Tires Choices...:
Geeze, you get a lot of choices!

                          * You can use an all surface protectant such as #40, Natural Shine, TechProtect/cockpit shine, or Gold Class Vinal and Rubber Same product on Dash, vinal... don't need to buy a specific product

                          * You can use a specic Dressing just for tires such as Endurance (gel), Endurance High Gloss (gel), Hot Shine (spray can or pump), Nxt Insane Shine (spray can) These are all great and last a long time.! There is also #38 almost forgot about that one

                          * You can use professional products such as Hyper Dressing, Silicon-Free Dressing, or All Season Dressing.

My favorite so far is Nxt Insane Shine because I like the blinding shine. If you want a very natural look, go with something like Endurance.

Not that it takes away from the topic, but this is a very bad premise. Getting a little carried away there buddy!

How am I getting carried away, buddy?

                              1. Serriously probabably 99% of cars have a clearcoat unless they are old or solid white. Clear coats have been around and most cars do have a clear coat; however, those that don't can typically still use the same products without problem.

                              2. Meguiar's does sell stuff to both consumers and professionals. Sure anyone can buy from either line and both are great products.

                              3. I have yet to find a typical Meguiar's product that isn't clearcoat safe unless it is some heavy duty compund or agressuve clay that can scuff paint leaving a haze.

Typically, most people should stick with Gold Class, Nxt Generation, and #80 and #83, and use something like theG-100. Honestly, if it takes more than #83 and the G-100, I would go take it to someone like Joe at Superior Shine and let a pro's pro work on it.
