I've heard the answer to this somewhere before (Can't remember though)....I wouldn't hesitate to use it 3 to 4 times a year...Maybe more.

I would like to add this...It's best to use the least abrasive product that will do the job...#82 Swirl Free Polish, or #9 Swirl Remover would be a good place to start if you don't need to use DACP.

I like to keep my finish in good enough shape so I can use a less abrasive product come detail time.

#9 and #82 are VERY similar products however, the #82 is slightly more agressive. If you're just looking to do one vehicle, I'd go with the #9 as it'll be slightly cheaper as it's available in a 16oz size whereas #82 is only available in 32oz and 1 gallon.

As Rusty mentioned, I'd start with the least agressive product and move upwards. Further, you can always apply a couple of coats of something that is slightly less agressive to typically achieve an end result similar to a more abrassive product.

Hence, I've applied three layers of #9 (by hand) and got awesome results but, on a very similar finish, I've utilzed a PC and #83 and got the same result in one pass.

It's a shame that #82 doesn't come in a 16oz bottle, because I think it is better than #9....I think #9 was intended for single stage paint, but #82 was made for clear coat finishes.

I just started using #82 recently and I like it very much...It leaves a deep gloss similar to #7.

But both #9, and #82 are great products.

Hey Rusty, I'm going to start using #82 soon, and use #7 as one of my bread and butter products.
Based on your above statement, would you say there is any need to follow #82 with #7, or skip the #7 and go straight to wax after 82?

That's a good question Flawless...I haven't used #7 over #82 yet, but I sure like the way #82 looks before I use NXT.

Myself, I would like to try #81 Hand Polish after #82, as I have heard it makes the paint look even better.

But, to answer your question, I would say skip #7 and go straight to a wax IMO, because #82 is rich in polishing oils anyway.

Great. Thanks for the reply. I'll try 82 then 26 and see how I like it.

For what it's worth, I just did mine with clay, #82, #7 and NXT (2 coats) and here is a photo :

Looks like a shining star reflection to me!

How did the finish look after #82 was applied?

For what its worth I have used #9 2.0 and my PC with good results but I can not compare it to #82 since I have never used it. I will give the #9 2.0 a thumbs up.

                              While we're on the topic
How are you guys working the #82? I'd assume not as slowly as DACP? How much product are you using on the PC pad? With DACP I go turltle slow on speed 6, and use about a nickel sized dap on the pad. How does 82 compare?

                              BTW, GREAT results Spotty-Dog
