I am new to the forums.
I have a 99 Silverado (NBS), Platinum that has just been recently totally repainted due to an accident. After the repaint, the body shop put a polish on it.
I want to detail my ride right, so I have a few observations and questions:
1) I know that I have to remove the polish with dawn before I use the claybar. How much dawn do I use per gallon of water?
2) Then I use the claybar, correct?
3) Then I wash again. Do I use dawn again?
4) Since I have a new paintjob, do I need to use a cleaner like Scratch X? I do see some very minor scratches.
5) Then I use a polish like Deep Crystal?
6) Then I finish up with wax. Which wax should I use? I am confused because there is NXT Tech Spray; NXT Tech Paste and NXT Tech Wax. I would prefer to use one that does not leave any white residue on the black trim parts of my truck. Is there one of these that is better than another in that regard?
It might help you to know that my ride is garage kept and not a daily rider.
Thanks very much for your help.
