  • Parking under tree

Sorry if this was discussed before... But I live in VA and have to park my car under trees.
besides the normal dust and rain that dirties the car I also have debre from the trees that lands on hood roof n trunk.
Before I use any products to clean car I use a microfibre town and gently brush off the car. Some of it sticks to towel then use wash wax anywhere then
use ULW if I have time to. Is this ok to do this.. I just wanted any suggestions what to do to get deere off car. I heard using a brush like the California brush is not good. Thanks all for any suggestions .. This forum is great.. I learned a lot from this forum.. alex

You really don't want to touch the paint with anything dry when it is dirty.
Personally with that much gunk I would use D114 Rinse Free Express Wash. The purchase price of a gallon is a great deal. It goes so far it's nutty.

You would be able to mist the car down with a mix in a spray bottle then do a rinseless wash.
This spray bottle would help loosen any kind of sticky dirt prior to the rinseless

The way it sounds, I personally would do a rinseless.

I park under trees as well, and it depends on the tree. Some just drop dust and leaves, others literally spit sap that creates little dots of glue. I use a California Duster to get "the big stuff", then follow with UWWA/D115, then QW if I need it.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a California Duster, if used correctly. I have two black cars, one is ten years old and the duster has never been a problem on either car. I would think you have much, much, more of a chance of damaging your paint using a microfiber cloth to rub off tree residue. Fortunately I do not regularly park under trees, however the few times I did, I let the wind blow the loose stuff off on the way home, (or you could use the duster) and then washed the car normally to get any remaining debris and/or sap off the car.
