For light to medium work, I really like the Meg's thin yellow pad and Ultimate Polish (basically the same thing as M205). It hasn't let me down and always finishes LSP ready.

ColorX won't do much for severe swirls. I start with UP on a blue Hex Logic or Buff and shine pad on the PC 7424, or 7424xp. If I need more cut I try my compounding pad - the green Hex Logic. If that isn't working I use Ultimate Compound on the Green Hex Logic. That usually takes care of the harshest swirls, and oxidation. I play with the speeds too. I range from 4.5 - 6 for corrections, and 4 - 5 for general polishing, and 3 - 4.5 for ultra finishing. I rarely use and additional pressure with these pads.

If you go with the typical orange and white pads, be prepared to use some significant pressure.
