I don't know if I am doing the right thing, but I have found that cheap orbital's "wax spreaders" polish better if you put enough pressure on them to make them spin backwards. Anyone else found this.

I like using them with lighter pressure, and a terrycloth cloth bonnet to clean up paint. Been years since I used one. I've never had one spin backwards though.
I used to work at a car wash. The manager used to detail cars with one of those 6" wax spreaders. I remember coming to work one day, and it was on the ground in pieces next to a customer's van. He was a really strong dude. He grew up on his parents farm in the Ukraine, guy was super human. Anyways, yeah, he used so much pressure on that thing that he literally crushed it. Never seen anything like that...
