I've used #80 with a PC, but never tried it by hand because of several threads that indicated to me that #80 must be applied by machine to effectively break down the abrasives. This, I thought, meant that #80 might leave micro-marring if used by hand.
1. Is #80 more or less aggressive than Scratch X when applied by hand?
2. Is #80 less aggressive applied by hand than when used with a PC?
Thanks!

M80 is less aggressive when applied by hand versus applying by machine.
I've never had a micro-marring problem when applying M80 on paint by hand. Be sure the surface is clean and your applicator is clean and soft.
