I do want to mention that if for some reason u decided to use ur da to remove wax, u will want to use a more aggressive pad under the mf bonnet such as meguiars burgundy cutting pad. Although I agree with mr stoops as to use ur hands some people still like to use their da's. And I believe awhile ago mr stoops had made the comment as far as what pad to use under bonnets.

Otherwise car looks great! Now ur addicted like the rest of us. Now it gets bad when u only take care of ur cars and u own a $1000 carpet extractor or a $800 steamer. Not that I have any of those but one day I will but not for a long time

    Looks real nice

It would be good to see some full sun shots. Well done.

Any plans on how to maintain it?

Ok finally done. Well almost. I still need to do the windows and inside. But doing interiors is my speciality. Now I was running out of light when I took these, but I really wanted to get some images. I hope I didn't resize them too small. I will take more during the day today if I have time. Let me know what you all think.

Oh I will totally be posting some Picts. Lol. After all it's a way to show off my hard work. (Not that it really seems like work so far). But I will be proud.

So I am finally home again. Gonna chill for about 30mins or so then I'll finish up. See ya then

Applying by machine is time saving. It allows for a coat of wax/sealant to be applied thing. Removing by hand is still the way to go. Waiting on some pics

I think I just used the wrong terminology when I said buff off the wax. I have waxed this new car twice before, by hand of course. And when it comes to removing the wax it is very easy. And happens to be my favorite part. Lol It's just that with my new "toy" I wondered if it would be better to remove the wax with the PC, or if it would improve the results. I so can't wait for the finished product today.

    Thank again eceryone

This comment leads us to assume that you're making a very common mistake when removing hazed wax - you're working too hard. In fact, you're making work for yourself that doesn't need to be. Once the wax has dried/hazed over, you really don't need to do anything more than wipe it off. If you're "hand buffing", meaning that your rubbing with any vigor at all in an attempt to maximize the gloss (sort of like spit shining a pair of dress boots in the Marine Corps), well, stop it!! All you're doing is making more work for yourself and you're actually being so aggressive that you're removing that last little bit of wax that you want to leave behind in the first place. You also run the risk of marring the paint with this sort of rubbing action. Properly applied, meaning really thin and uniform, any wax will be easy to wipe off - not rub or buff off, but simply wipe off. And applying wax with a DA makes it extremely easy to apply that thin and uniform coat.

Bottom line: if you're working really hard when waxing a car, you're just plain doing something wrong.

I believe by doing it this way you remove all residue and give yourself the cleanest paint possible. Then when you apply the wax of your choice, you are going to achieve the best results in terms of gloss, smoothness and reflectivity.

To remove the wax with the PC, you'll need one or two microfiber bonnets that fit over your pads (think shower cap). But in all honesty, it's so easy to remove the cured wax by hand that using the PC and the MF bonnets are actually MORE work.

Just re-wash it and you'll be fine.

Don't worry, it's normal for it to take a while - especially for a first timer. What product/pad did you end up using?

    Re: First time clay baring

Wow it's a lot of fun doing this stuff. I got to use all my new toys today. I washed, then clay bared my whole car. Then started to polish it. I don't know if I'm just really slow cause it was my first time using a DA or because it is MY actual car or my need for perfection, but it takes. Long time. I got the hood, roof, and deck lid polished and so far it looks GREAT! Of course a thunderstorm shut me down for the night. THIS TIME THE RAIN REALLY PISSED ME OFF!

My my question is tomorrow when I goto finish polishing then waxing my car, do I have to re-wash and re-bar the whole car? Or can I just re-wash it? Any help or advise is totally needed as I sit here pissed at the sound of the pouring rain. Lol

    thanks
    Mike
