Had to try out my new foam cannon :) and share with you all

I got a foam cannon a couple of weeks ago and wasn't planning on using it for a few more weeks, but decided to crack it out this afternoon after work. After our weekend back at the in laws the car was a little dirty This is what we get this time of year and they live in the country. So, I thought instead of paying $12 at the auto car wash and still need to hand wash it, why not try out my foam cannon. So, here it goes.

MTM Foam Cannon



Used about 1 ounce of D111 and was surprised at how it foamed. I was skeptical because all the post I was reading were saying you need Mr Pink or Honey Dew, but I can say, I was impressed with the foam. Maybe because I don't know any different.




After 3 minutes




After power washing. Got all of the dirt and junk off. Leaving a of dirt behind for a proper two bucket wash, which is what i expected. Which is what I figured I would have probably gotten from the car wash too.

Couple of items to note:

1. Do not foam cannon car in your work cloths. It can be kind of a messy process if it is a little bit windy.
2. Wife now knows I bought a foam cannon. She came home while I was doing this. Oh well
3. I enjoyed the process. It was more fun than anything. Will get me using my power washer more.

Nice. D111 works fine in a foam cannon. It's not super foamy but it's decent.

Did you pressure wash the car before foaming it?

Awesome post! I'm dying to get one myself. Ur going to the dark side so fast. It's funny how addictive this hobby gets and all the toys u want to make it easier. Awesome weekend to do it as well as it got to the 40's finally

Did you pressure wash the car before foaming it?

No, I just put the foam on and let it sit for about 5 minutes then pressure washed the gravel road mud off. Then did another foam bath with a two bucket wash.

Ha, funny thing, because I was in a hurry to just get it done, I didn't even touch the wheels with a brush. That was just a quick hit with the pressure washer and a sponge. Will spend more time on it this weekend, hopefully.

LOL, yeah, it got pretty addicting. It was fun and my son enjoyed watching the process. Although he was too busy using quick detail (water) on his power wheels truck.

The reason I asked is because pressure washing all the gunk off, followed by a foam bath and then your 2 bucket will save you some time. Foam cannons are fun. I've enjoyed mine.

I enjoyed mine until the novelty wore off....about half way through the first time I used it. It even entertained the neighbor for a few minutes. You would not want to be trying that in the middle of the summer on a black car. By the time you get halfway through, where you started is dry and ugly. In my case, it wasn't even that hot out. So, after one wash, the kids now have a fun toy they can use. I found it more trouble than it was worth, particularly when I still had to do the two bucket thing anyway.

True, I will do that from now on. I think this first time I just wanted to use it twice, lol

That is true, it will probably be limited use when it warms up as I can see you would have to work quickly before it all dries on you. Especially on black. Was fun though and my son enjoyed it. And I could see one of my neighbors peeking out of his garage.

I love my foam cannon. Use it with an electric Karcher pressure washer and Mr Pink. Great combination. And yes my wife questioned the gun I was using, said it was just an additional tool that I bought from the previous detail to make things easier on everyone!

LOL, my wife isn't surprised anymore when she see's something new. She knows it isn't me, its the addiction But she does admit, she enjoys when someone rides in her car and they comment how clean it is. And she even comes home and tells me after riding in someone elses car, you really need to clean so and so's car.

I busted out the foam cannon today as I am currently correcting my brothers car.

This is just a tad over 2 ounces of Hyper Wash. I wanted a little more foam. This did give me better foam than Shampoo Plus and clinged longer. Hyper Wash is the top soap I have used in the Meguiar's line. Crazy dilution of 400:1. When you use up shampoo plus I encourage you to try hyper wash.

Was moving fairly quick to avoid washing in the heat today so not the best shots.

The foam cannons are fun.

Yeah, that is great foaming. Yeah, I was thinking of trying out hyper wash next just to compare.
