I can't tell if what I'm seeing are water spots or just the metallic flake in the paint.
Either way, it looks like the spots must be pretty mild. Have you tried anything else less agressive to remove them? Clay would be a good start (if they're not etched in)...

I own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
So after cleaning my truck yesterday, this morning on my way to school, I saw these spots again on my hood when a street lamp hit my hood. they look like water spots, but when I use my swirl finder light or the like; I can not replicate or see anything. My paint looks flawless: not swirls, no nothing. But any dim light like a street lamp at the right angle shows up these annoying spots. Any ideas?
I was planning on doing a complete detail again in the near future. I was hoping for some insight to what this is that I'm seeing. Thanks guys.
Here's a quick tip on getting a better close up shot. Put your finger pointing to the area so the camera has a place to focus on.
Something like this when I was trying to show no defects after polishing a specific area. This was taken with an iphone with the sun as my light source.
Sounds like it's going to be very hard to capture a photo of the defects.
Regardless, instead of trying to figure out what they are, or how they got there, I think you just need to correct them next time.
Wash
Clay
Compound (UC)
Polish (UP) - because it sounds like you want it absolutely flawless
Sealant
Wax
I'll bet that gets rid of them*
* Disclaimer: Not a literal bet, but you get the point...
