The kit is only sold online, not available in store. All of those products are available in store, but you would have to purchase them separately.

Re: Which Megs line to choose?

It's an online deal only. Trust me you will use all the products that come with it. Amazon also has a similar kit minus the glass cleaner and it costs more.

The walmart kit is really nice.

Judging from that one close pic, ultimate polish may be all you need. Try a test spot with ultimate polish. If it works out well keep going. If you need more correction than you can step up to ultimate compound. On that pilot I would keep using NXT. It is a great wax for light colored cars.

Re: Which Megs line to choose?

I think the only thing in that package I didn't think I would use was the ultimate protectant as I thought that might leave shiny finish on the interior and I don't like that, if that is what I am thinking but I could be totally wrong about that. I was thinking at one point I had gotten a Megs product at some point and it left things a little shinier than I cared for. I do like the interior quick detailed though. But at that deal you can't pass up that much product for that price. I will be getting that package for sure. Thanks for recommending it to me. And I like that it has some larger MF towels in it. I just have some small ones. I have been drying with chamios which has been fine but seems like the preferred way is MF.

So, my plan for this car is to do the clay if needed (can't hurt) ultimate polish, then the ultimate wax. Does that sound about right. Is there any wait time in between polish and wax?

          Thanks

Sounds good. But really alot prefer the meguairs water magnet over the supreme shine mf. If ur cars never been flayed than its a good idea. U can do a baggy test to make sure. But ur on track right. And there is no wait time in between steps. Only if u decide to do a carnauba wax ontop of a wax sealant. Than there's a 12 hour wait time.

            Wash
            ClAy
            Polish
            Wax

You could always try a test spot with ultimate protectant. If you don't like it, quik interior detailer can remove it. The shine is knocked down a little when you give the area's a light buff to remove any excess product.

We also have a pay it forward thread where you can pass along the product for someone else to try it.

This pretty much covers it. Looks like the kit has one water magnet. Considering you have a larger vehicle I would pick up a couple more. The supreme shine towels are great for removing compounds, polishes, waxes and applying/removing a quik wax.

Re: Which Megs line to choose?

Guys, if anyone is using NXT/Ultimate on black and is underwhelmed, that is a clue that recommending more of the same is not going to wow them. Black metallic looks especially awesome using Gold Class/Yellow and Gold Class Quik Wax and Quick Detailer, because NXT/Ultimate and others can look too hazy or silvery or grey, and anything with carnauba will look deeper and wetter and blacker. Gold Class/Yellow will last as long as any other Meg's choice being pushed by the other posters. This forum is not just for NXT/Ultimate as the answer to every problem. Those might be great choices for silver, grey, white, or other light cars, but for dark blues and especially black, synwax is just not enough. Go to a car show and you'll see what black is supposed to look like.

Re: Which Megs line to choose?

As the owner of a black car, I'll offer a couple of things:
                  1) To expand on what Top Gear said, a black car done right with Ultimate looks pretty darned good. However, Ultimate wax doesn't give the warm look of carnuba. When I have the time, I do mine with Ultimate paste, let cure for a day, then a coat of carnuba. Result: durable finish with a rich, deep glow.
                  2) A machine is crucial when doing a black car, IMO. Tried like heck to get a good finish by hand, to no avail. Bought a PC DA and, voila!, amazing results.

Got my ultimate bundle ordered today and should be here by Saturday. Might try some GC in a few months just to see if I can see a difference since that keeps coming up. Can't beat the cost of the bundle. Need to go out and get a clay bar too. Paint is in good shape but might add well hit it while I am at it.

I have never put anything other than nxt 2.0 on my Pilot. Is it worth the time to polish white before? Will I even notice?

Re: Which Megs line to choose?

GC is pretty inexpensive. I think slightly over $10 at Walmart.
Personally, I also prefer the look of GC over UW.
Nonetheless, as I get older and lazier, my preference is toward protection and durability and UW is my go to.

Agree, at this stage of my life with kids and stuff I would prefer protection first and if I have time to follow up mid summer with GC then I can. Would it make sense to use UW and GCQW or should you stay in the same line for QW too?

Personally I have not used GCQW but I would imagine it to have some carnauba?
As long your base line of protection is coming from UW, I would think it would not matter what you top it with as long as it is a not a cleaner wax.
In addition, it might not be a bad idea to have some carnauba on top of UW for some depth.

I used to do a layer of NXT or UW and next day, top it with GCCP and the car looked fantastic.

I say go ahead and experiment and find the combo that works best for you.

Nice. Enjoy using it. I prefer the look of M26 over GC. M26 has been noted as having the best DOI (distinction of image). M26 is about $13-15 and definitely worth it.

This is also a good option. White wax followed by either NXT or UW is a very good combination.

To answer your question about polishing a white vehicle. I have to say it is definitely worth it. Not only is the paint cleaned but it gives white that gloss which is what you want with a light colored car. NXT will seal that gloss.
