Re: New to detailing, need help
I usually clay the glass and use the professional version of ultimate quik wax (D156). It's quick and works great. I apply once a month during my maintenance wash where I use quick wax. In between I use the professional version of ultimate quik detailer (M135). I keep my interior clean so I usually use quik interior detailer as my base on the rubber and plastics. I use it for it's light cleaning ability. I follow that with ultimate protectant for longer protection. Not sure if you have leather but for my leather seats I use meguiar's leather sealer system.
If you like armor all and it works you can keep using that.
This is another good option.
The clay patent is over. Ricardo clay has been available to purchase through places like autogeek for a few months. I would still recommend the clay kit.
You will get a lot of meguiar's recommendations here hence the forum lol. Meguiar's products perform just as well and since you are just starting out the clay kit will work just fine for you. I would still consider a clay alternative such as the nanoskin autoscrub sponge. I use the sponge with D155 last touch which is a bulk version of QD that can be diluted for clay lube.
You could also pick up the clay from the pro version
D155 last touch is very cost effective. Can be used straight as QD or diluted 1:1 for clay lube. It goes for $20 for 1 gallon here.
Looking at the photos, I think you will be fine with ultimate polish. Do a test spot with ultimate polish and if it looks like it is working then just use that and then follow up with wax. Use UC for spot corrections where UP can;t get those defects out.
Is the rear bumper plastic trim? If so some ultimate black would give it some life as well as protect it so it doesn't fade on you.
